CelesteCS Reporting for Confluence Cloud (Cloud app) is an app for Atlassian Confluence Cloud, allowing reports built from Confluence, Jira and JSON data to be added to Confluence pages. CelesteCS Reporting for Confluence Data Center (Data Center app) is an app for Atlassian Confluence Data Center, allowing the same functionality.
Where the Cloud app runs
The Cloud app is installed in Confluence Cloud as an Atlassian Forge app. Its macros are calculated on Google App Engine, a part of Google Cloud Platform, which offers hosting on the same infrastructure that Google uses for its own products. Google App Engine status may be found on the Google Cloud Status Dashboard, and Google's security practices are described in the Google security overview.
Which data is processed by the Cloud app
To calculate its macros, the app needs the content of the Confluence pages where it is used and, when a macro is configured to use Jira, the Jira issue data requested by that macro. This data is transferred from Atlassian Cloud to the app over an encrypted HTTPS connection and is always requested on behalf of the user who is viewing the page, so the app can only read what this user is allowed to see. The data is processed in memory, is not stored, and is not used for any other purpose than calculating the macros. Celeste Creative Solutions does not view or use the content of your pages, and no third party has access to it.
Which data is stored by the Cloud app
The following data is stored in a secure database for each app installation. It is needed to tell the installations apart and to communicate with your Confluence site securely:
- pluginKey - "com.celestecs.confluence.celestecs-reporting"
- clientKey - unique client ID
- publicKey, sharedSecret and oauthClientId - unique sequences of letters and digits used for authentication
- serverVersion and pluginsVersion - version numbers
- baseUrl - something like "https://your-site.atlassian.net/wiki"
- productType - usually "confluence"
- description - something like "Atlassian Confluence at https://your-site.atlassian.net/wiki"
Like any web service, the hosting platform keeps standard technical request logs (time, request address including macro parameters, response status). They are used only for operating and troubleshooting the service, are accessible only to Celeste Creative Solutions, and are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Where the Data Center app runs
The Data Center app runs on your Confluence Data Center servers, so no data is accessed or somehow transferred to Celeste Creative Solutions servers or other third-party servers.
Which data is processed by the Data Center app
The Data Center app requires access to the content of the Confluence pages where it is used and, when configured, to Jira issue data through the Confluence-Jira application link. This data is read and processed locally on the Confluence server. Part of the content may be stored in logs, but these logs are stored locally on the Confluence server. Neither employees of Celeste Creative Solutions nor any other third party is able to access this data without the help of your Confluence administrator.
