This page explains how to move CelesteCS Conditions for Confluence from Confluence Data Center to Confluence Cloud and what to check after the migration.

Before you start

CelesteCS Conditions does not store any data of its own: there are no app settings and no app database tables to migrate. All conditional formatting rules live in the page content itself, in the macros and their parameters. When you migrate a space with the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant, the Conditions macros are migrated together with the pages.

The Data Center and Cloud versions of the app use the same app key. CelesteCS Conditions for Confluence Cloud recognizes the macros of migrated pages, so they keep working without any changes to the pages.

Migration steps

  1. Install CelesteCS Conditions for Confluence Cloud on your Cloud site from the Atlassian Marketplace. Install it before you open the migrated pages, otherwise Confluence shows the macros as unknown.
  2. Migrate your spaces with the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant as usual. No app data migration is required for CelesteCS Conditions.
  3. Open several pages with conditional formatting and check that tables are formatted as in Data Center.

What is migrated automatically

  • All six macros: Conditional Rules Manager, Conditional Rule, Conditional 2-Color Scale, Conditional 3-Color Scale, Conditional Data Bar and Conditional Icon Set.
  • All rules, conditions, formulas, styles, color scales, data bars and icon sets, with all their parameters.
  • CelesteCS Math formulas that read tables formatted by Conditions (requires CelesteCS Math for Confluence Cloud).

Differences between Data Center and Cloud

  • There are no functional differences: all conditions and parameters available in Data Center are available in Cloud.
  • In Cloud, data bars and icon sets are rendered as images. They look the same as in Data Center.
  • Migrated macros keep their Data Center names. In the Cloud macro browser you will see the Cloud versions of the macros. Both work the same way, and migrated macros can be edited as usual.
